Overview
Policyholder Focused, Financially Strong
New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company (NJM) provides quality customer and claims service with the utmost good faith, finishing at the top in a reader survey published in 2006 by a national consumer magazine.
In addition, the entire NJM Insurance Group has consistently drawn low levels of valid complaints at the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance (NJDOBI) since statistics began in 1987. This includes registering only four valid complaints over the past three years.
NJM is the largest company providing Personal Auto insurance in New Jersey with more than 730,000 vehicles insured. NJM writes about 98% of its policies in New Jersey and the rest are in nearby areas of Pennsylvania.
New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company's rates are among the most competitive in the state—even before the return of dividends to policyholders—and have not had an overall rate increase since 1996. In addition, tiers, credit scores, profession or education do not figure in rate decisions.
To apply, certain membership eligibility criteria and the Company's acceptance criteria must be met. If a New Jersey resident meets our membership eligibility criteria but does not meet NJM's auto acceptance criteria, consideration will be given for coverage with another company in the NJM Insurance Group, New Jersey Re-Insurance Company (NJRe), which currently does not provide dividends for Personal Auto Insurance. Insureds with both auto and homeowners coverage through NJM Insurance Group may apply for personal Umbrella liability insurance from NJRe.
