Discount

Description

Auto Companion Discount
(Homeowners Policy Credit)

If you also have a Homeowners or Condominium policy with us, you will receive a 5% discount on your NJM Auto policy premium for most coverages.

Credit is not available for NJM Renters policyholders.

The discount does not apply on New Jersey Re-Insurance Company Auto policies.

Multi-Car Discount

 If two or more vehicles are insured on the same policy, a Multi-Car Discount is applied to each vehicle.
Anti-Theft Device Discount You may be eligible for a reduction ranging from 5% to 25% in your Other Than Collision (Comprehensive) premium on your policy for each auto equipped with an anti-theft (passive alarm or fuel cutoff) or vehicle recovery device (LoJack or OnStar).
Driver Training Discount for Youthful Opertors

Available to drivers under 21 years of age who successfully complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours behind-the-wheel training, or three hours behind-the-wheel training and 12 hours in an approved driving simulator.

Documentation is required for the discount to be applied. If classroom and behind-the-wheel were given by two separate training facilities, two documents will be required.
Good Student Discount for Youthful Operators

Available for qualified drivers under age 25 if the driver is a full-time high school or college student.

Qualifications:

  • Upper 20% of the class.
  • "B" average, 80 or more on a 0–100 scale or a 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale.
  • Dean's List or Honor Roll.
Defensive Driving (NJ)

A 5% discount applies, for up to three years, to Liability, PIP, and Collision premiums if you have taken a course approved by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC).

Qualifications: (Discount is applied at renewal only)

  • Requires a Motor Vehicle Record check for the driver.
  • Applicable for principal and occasional operators.
  • Only one defensive driving discount applies per vehicle.
  • Adverse activity occurring after the completion of the Defensive Driving course can cause the elimination of the discount.
  • Course can be retaken every three years.
  • Courses completed prior to obtaining permit or license are eligible for application once permit/license is acquired.
  • MVC-approved Online Courses are eligible.
Driver Improvement (PA) We offer Pennsylvania members a discount for completion of a Driver Improvement Course.
