Raises $5,350 for Special Olympics

NJ — Employees of New Jersey Manufacturers
Insurance
Company
(NJM)
and NJM
Bank
supported Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) by participating
in the first-ever NJM Family Night at the Trenton
Thunder.
A $5,350 donation was given to SONJ before the first
pitch
of last Friday night’s
game
(July
16) at
Waterfront
Park.
Bernie Flynn, President and CEO of NJM and Chairman
of NJM Bank, and several employees presented the $5,350
check to Marc Edenzon, President of SONJ, on the baseball
field before the game. NJM employees contributed to this
effort by purchasing a total of 1,070 game tickets, which
included a per-ticket Special Olympics donation with
Company assistance.
SONJ provides training in 24 sports and more than 160
competitions to more than 21,000 children and adult participants
throughout New Jersey.
It was a special evening for NJM employees and their
guests, many of whom participated in game activities.
Two NJM employees sang the National Anthem, and three
children of NJM employees threw ceremonial "first" pitches
from the mound.
The Trenton Thunder, the AA affiliate of the New York
Yankees, defeated the rival Reading Phillies 8-6.
