West Trenton, NJ — Employees of New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company (NJM) and NJM Bank supported Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) by participating in the first-ever NJM Family Night at the Trenton Thunder. A $5,350 donation was given to SONJ before the first pitch of last Friday night’s game (July 16) at Waterfront Park.

Bernie Flynn, President and CEO of NJM and Chairman of NJM Bank, and several employees presented the $5,350 check to Marc Edenzon, President of SONJ, on the baseball field before the game. NJM employees contributed to this effort by purchasing a total of 1,070 game tickets, which included a per-ticket Special Olympics donation with Company assistance.

SONJ provides training in 24 sports and more than 160 competitions to more than 21,000 children and adult participants throughout New Jersey.

It was a special evening for NJM employees and their guests, many of whom participated in game activities. Two NJM employees sang the National Anthem, and three children of NJM employees threw ceremonial "first" pitches from the mound.

The Trenton Thunder, the AA affiliate of the New York Yankees, defeated the rival Reading Phillies 8-6.

New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company operates exclusively for the benefit of its policyholders and has returned dividends to policyholders every year since 1918.
