BACKING (SEVEN MINUTE SOLUTIONS) —
This training series is designed to serve as refresher or post-accident training for veteran drivers. Ninety percent of trucking accidents occur when backing. It is imperative when backing to take your time and check the area. Straight line backing is ideal but sometimes not possible. If blind side backing is required, a spotter should be used. Sight side backing should never exceed ninety degrees, as damage to the lines and trailer could occur. Alley dock backing, a combination of sight side and straightline, is reviewed. Taking your time and extra maneuvering to complete the job safely are emphasized. (7 Minutes)

SEEING HAZARDS (SEVEN MINUTE SOLUTIONS) —
This training series is designed to serve as refresher or post-accident training for veteran drivers. Recognizing and dealing with hazards before they become accidents is the mark of a professional driver. There are three steps to take to reduce hazards. The first is to make sure you are ready to drive by avoiding alcohol for 24 hours and getting enough rest. Next you should have a plan to identify hazards. A technique called “conversational” driving is reviewed. The third step is to know common road hazards and how to deal with them. Drivers should try to have an emergency path, look past the vehicles in front and be aware of pedestrians, children, impaired drivers, animals, and road construction in the area. (7 Minutes)

COUPLING & UNCOUPLING (SEVEN MINUTE SOLUTIONS) —
This training series is designed to serve as refresher or post-accident training for veteran drivers. Drivers knowledge and skill of coupling and uncoupling procedures are a vital requirement of their job. The key to coupling is using a step-by-step method which includes inspecting the fifth wheel, checking around the vehicle, positioning the tractor, backing slowly, securing the tractor, checking the height of the trailer, connecting the air lines, supplying air to the trailer, locking the trailer brakes, backing under the trailer, checking the connections are secure, securing the vehicle, inspecting the coupling with a flashlight, connecting the electrical cord, raising the landing gear and removing the wheel chocks. Uncoupling procedures should include similar steps as the coupling procedure with an emphasis on supporting the landing gear and wheel chocking. (7 Minutes)

EXTREME WEATHER DRIVING (SEVEN MINUTE SOLUTIONS) —
This training series is designed to serve as refresher or post-accident training for veteran drivers. This video covers important aspects of driving in extreme weather. Rain is the most common adverse weather most drivers face. Reduced traction and visibility are the result. Having good windshield wipers and controlling speed are two factors discussed. Black ice forms anytime, day or night. How to check if the conditions are right for black ice to form is covered. Driving in snow and the use of chains is reviewed. Lastly, driving in fog and heat and when to get off the road are discussed. (7 Minutes)

This training series is designed to serve as refresher or post-accident training for veteran drivers. The main objective is to instruct all drivers of procedures to follow when dealing with vehicle fires. The common causes of vehicle fires are discussed including: failure in the electrical system, overheating of the brake system, overheating of tires, and cargo fires. How to handle a fire if it occurs is also reviewed. Fire extinguisher markings are discussed and techniques for fighting the specific fires are covered. (7 Minutes)

The video reviews checking headlights and accessory lights, people and animal hazards, over-driving headlight dangers, impaired drivers, use of proper signals, increased following distance and use of highbeams. — Fatigue plays a part in highway mishaps. This is the story of "Johnny," a seasoned driver, and his dispatcher, "Mike." Pressured by time, Johnny pushes himself to the limit. Events stack up against him with terrible consequences for him and others. The video prompts the viewer to contemplate the lessons from this terrible incident. (11:00 Minutes)

WINTER DRIVING SAFETY (THE RULES HAVE CHANGED)
— If you ask your truck to do more than it has the traction to do, it will skid. The video advises truck drivers to compensate for poor traction by increasing following distance, slowing down and making all movements gently. Watch for slick roads during rain, melting or hard-packed snow and strong side winds. The video discusses checking for ice, watching for trailer pushing, driving ahead of yourself, riding alone, timing lights and easing up on bridges. Braking ability when bobtailing is covered. The program also illustrates what to do when skidding and jackknifing. The final message is: if you don't feel comfortable, park it - period. (12:25 Minutes)

— True story of a driver's account of what happened in a fraction of a second. He relives this moment over and over in his nightmares. His personal loss was high. The emphasis is learning a lesson from this terrible tragedy and examining your driving habits to ensure that they are as safe as possible. Increasing following distance, being patient and staying in your lane are highlighted. (8 Minutes)

— This video shows how individuals gradually develop bad driving habits. The story is about how a driver pays emotionally for mistakes that cause injury or death. The danger of tailgating becomes apparent when the trucker is involved in a fatal accident. The bad memories of the accident and the trial stay with the driver. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BARREL
— Every year hundreds of workers are killed in highway work zones. In an effort to increase the safety of highway workers this video is presented by the NJ State Safety Council. The intent of the video is to help you recognize the dangers of highway construction and offer tips on how to travel safely through highway work zones. The message of the video is, "Let them work, let them live." (10 Minutes)
