FALL ARREST SYSTEMS —
This video demonstrates a review of Personal Fall Arrest (PFA) systems. An awareness of when to use fall protection systems and what OSHA requires. It covers the three parts of PFA’s: 1) anchors, 2) body harness and 3) lanyards. A review of self-retracting lifelines (SRL) is included. Overall emphasis is placed on using compatible systems, care and inspections, removal from service after shock condition and hands on training. (9 Minutes)

In this humorous video Congressman “Tim Becile” visits a plant to present a safety award. He decides to tour the plant and becomes a walking hazard. Through his examples, this video demonstrates the use of proper equipment to prevent falls and how to use warning signs for slip hazards. Cleanup of spills to prevent accidents, proper shoes and the use of non-skid stair treads are also discussed. Ongoing routine maintenance and proper lifting and carrying techniques are covered. FALL PROTECTION: THE BASICS —
This humorous video visits the laboratory of Frank and Larry at “Tests-R-Us.” They review the purpose of fall protection, which is to prevent disastrous falls and limit the distance an employee can fall. Passive systems include railings, nets, covers and cages. Why guardrails must be over 42 inches is discussed. Active fall protection systems including harnesses, lanyard lifelines and anchorage connectors are covered. Anytime an employee has the potential to fall six feet or more, a fall protection system is required. Proper inspection and attachment of the anchor are discussed. (9:58 Minutes)

WORK SURFACE SAFETY —
The emphasis of this presentation is to constantly be aware of the work surfaces around you as others may alter them because they are working in the area. Safe practices should include keeping floors clean and dry, using warning signs, maintaining dry standing places, keeping aisleways clear, using handrails, keeping chains in place, covering floor openings and safety around elevated work surfaces. This is an excellent video that reviews safe practices, as well as OSHA requirements. (6:17 Minutes)

— Video may be considered a very brief opener for a safety meeting, particularly on the topic of slips, trips and falls. It contains no commentary or analysis. It is a dramatization of several accident cases involving the above causes, as being envisioned through the eyes of a safety manager or director. One of the three cases depicted is very graphic and may not be suitable for those with an aversion to blood. (5 minutes)

— This is a good general video emphasizing the total preventability of these types of accidents, which are the third-leading cause of workplace deaths. It explores the various causes, including conditions, and acts along with the solutions. It discusses surface conditions, footwear, obstacles, housekeeping, lighting, ladders and stairs, fall-protection equipment, and techniques for minimizing extent of injury. The video is a general overview of a number of areas, not an extensive examination of any one in particular. (13 minutes)
