This video begins with a review of the four types of heat exposure: heat rash, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. What to do to prevent heat stress is then covered. BASIC FIRST AID —
Employees should know what to do if a coworker is injured or becomes ill. Who should you notify and what are company procedures? When an injured employee is identified, what steps are to be taken, including identifying hazards in the area, approaching the coworker and getting help are reviewed. The ABC medical priorities are shown: airway, breathing, and circulation. What to do if a person is unconscious, falls, or is bleeding is covered. This video is not a substitute for basic first aid training. (5:43 Minutes)

FIRST AID: HANDS AND FINGERS —
Do you know what to do if you or someone around you suffers a hand injury? Cuts and lacerations are some of the most common workplace injuries. This video discusses what to do when a person cuts themselves including wearing protective gloves to prevent bloodborne exposure, treatment procedures, cleanup and disposal of blood, and documentation of the incident. The video also discusses thermal burns including the difference between first, second, and third degree burns. A brief discussion of amputation and what to do with amputated parts is covered. Finally, wearing protective gloves is reviewed. This video does contain three graphic scenes of injured employees. (8:30 Minutes)

COLD STRESS —
Through the humorous use of “channel surfing,” this video reviews how you can be affected by cold and not even know it until you are rewarmed. The “Cold TV Satellite Show” and “Saved From the Cold” demonstrate the signs of cold stress, including shivering, fingers not working, muddled thinking, and memory lapse. Hypothermia and frostbite are covered. You then flip to the “Fashion Flash” show and are shown how to properly dress for the cold, temperature ratings on clothing, and the basics for layering and insulating. (7:55 Minutes)

EYEWASH SHOWERS & STATIONS —
Knowing what to do when an injury occurs and how to operate and locate eyewash stations and showers is crucial. ANSI has set minimum requirements for the location and flushing capability of these units. Testing and keeping covered with caps are reviewed. This video is a good refresher on the importance of eyewash stations and showers in the workplace. (8:27 Minutes)

FIRST AID: CPR REVIEW —
This video reviews the steps of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including attempting to get the person to respond, calling 911, and then initiating CPR. The ABCs are reviewed - airway, breathing and circulation. This video is a good refresher for CPR, however, it is not a substitute for initial training. (12:10 Minutes)

HAZWOPER: ROLE OF THE FIRST RESPONDER —
This video reviews the basic elements of a HAZCOM program. First responders need to recognize the hazards on sight. Company emergency contingency plans should be in place. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), training, monitoring equipment, slip/fall, electrical, confined space, and lifting hazards need to be identified by first responders. The video emphasizes that the incident should be critiqued and include suggestions for improvement. (9:26 Minutes)
