WORKPLACE VIOLENCE —
Violence is the third leading cause of death in the workplace. In an investigative news report format, this video presents who is at risk, risk factors, different types of violence, and how employee assistance plans can be used effectively. The risk factors include exchange of money, working in small groups, working night or early morning hours in high crime areas or in public settings. Two types of violence are discussed — internal and external. The importance of established company policy to handle domestic conflicts, threats, harassment, and grievances is highlighted. The profile of a workplace perpetrator is given. The basic message is that companies need to plan and be prepared for workplace violence. (9:47 Minutes)
