— The workplace of today is very different from that of a generation ago. Ethnic diversity and women in previously male-dominated jobs are commonplace. Behaviors that used to be acceptable are no longer. The emphasis of this video is on Hostile Work Environments. A sexual harassment trainer, an attorney and two Equal Employment Opportunity Commission officers describe the differences in perceptions, upbringing and what is offensive. Scenarios are played out and commentary given on subjects such as crude jokes, making advances, discussing sexual escapades, harassment by customers and retaliation. — This is the companion video to #570 and is geared toward managers and supervisors. The video involves a discussion between supervisors of subtle sexual harassment and the personnel challenges it presents. It discusses legal liability, acceptable training and seriousness of the message. It stresses that a policy should be written, posted and discussed and also that management should be accountable to enforce the policy. Several scenarios are played out and commentary given on subjects such as a correct response by a supervisor to an employee concern, supervisors making advances, dirty jokes by supervisors, harassment by customers and retaliation. The final message is to take action and demonstrate that harassing behaviors will not be tolerated. (29 Minutes)

BEYOND SEXUAL HARASSMENT - OTHER FORMS OF HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION
— It is illegal to discriminate based on race, national origin, religion, age, disability or perceived disability, or gender. These are known as protected classes. Even outside these protected classes, however, harassment may create a hostile work environment. This video advises that everyone know what harassment and discrimination are, know your company policy and take responsibility. Several case studies with examples of disrespectful and unprofessional behavior, some illegal and others not, are shown. Behaving in this manner can result in serious discipline, termination or legal action. The final message is treat others fairly and equally. This video is suitable for management and employees. — In this explicit ABC News 20/20 segment, host John Stossel speaks candidly with victims of same sex harassment. Discussed are reasons men behave this way and various behaviors that constitute same sex harassment. In March 1998 the US Supreme Court decided in Oncale vs. Sundowner Offshore Services, Inc. that same sex discrimination cases are actionable under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This video emphasizes that employers are being held responsible for establishing policies and practices that prohibit sexual harassment in the workplace. (19 Minutes)

— This video is geared toward employees. The video begins by defining harassment. It shows how harassers may be unaware of what they are doing. The intentions of the harasser do not matter. It is how the receiver feels. Harassment may cause physical reactions to feeling threatened. The program contains several scenarios demonstrating ethnic, age, weight, opposite-sex sexual, racial, sexual orientation and verbal harassment. Different people have different reactions. All employees deserve understanding and mutual respect. Guidelines for acceptable behavior are given. How to stop harassment is covered. Promoting respectful treatment of everyone is the bottom line. HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE: MANAGEMENT AWARENESS
— This is the companion video to #593 and is geared toward managers and supervisors. The video recommends a proactive approach to workplace harassment combining prevention, recognition and intervention. Harassment results in poor morale and productivity. Training employees to respect coworkers is the role of management. Guidelines are given for acceptable behavior. The examples played out in #593 are the same in this video. Management's job is to encourage reporting, document events, meet with employees, make company policy well-known, including penalties, look for signs of harassment, take an active stance, and establish an anti-retaliation policy.
