SAFETY ON THE JOB: WORKING ON LADDERS, POLES AND SCAFFOLDS —
This program clearly demonstrates that aerial accidents on the job do not just happen. They are caused in most cases by human error. This program provides important safety guidelines for working on ladders, utility poles and scaffolds. It will show workers that they need to know their own capabilities and how to properly use their equipment. The dangers of using drugs or alcohol when working above the ground are also discussed. WORKING WITHOUT A NET —
This video program will help employees become familiar with the basic rules of ladder use. It demonstrates the proper inspection, placement and set up of step ladders, extension ladders, straight ladders, etc. Appropriate climbing techniques are illustrated for these ladders when climbing with and without tools. Also covered is the use of the “buddy system” and properly tying off and blocking ladders to prevent their movement. This is a very effective program for ladder safety. (16 Minutes)

FALL PREVENTION: LADDERS —
This video program will help workers identify the most common causes of portable and fixed ladder accidents and teach them safe work practices which can help to eliminate them. Ladder selection is discussed including ladder type, length and duty rating. Proper inspection procedures are detailed and emphasized. Proper ladder set-up practices are covered to include techniques to ensure ladder stability. Employees will be instructed in proper climbing procedures as well as safe methods for getting on and off the ladder. Employees will also learn how to safely work from a ladder. In the case of fixed ladders, the use of climbing safety devices is discussed in detail. (21 Minutes)
