This videotape can become the foundation of a safety program. As employees view the tape, they will learn that the concerns about improving safety expressed by upper management mirror their own personal values. RETURNING THE INJURED WORKER TO THE JOB —
This program illustrates that returning an injured worker to the job is one of the most effective ways to control workers' compensation costs. While there is no "magical" formula for a successful early return-to-work program, some of the ingredients include the following: 1) Talking with medical professionals and injured workers regarding the availability of light duty jobs, 2) Contacting the worker right away following an injury to discuss their return to work, and 3) Promoting company-wide cooperation in returning workers to the job. This video program will help illustrate the message that for any workers' compensation loss control program to succeed, employers must demonstrate to the employees that they are constantly promoting health and well-being of those employees.
