HAZARD COMMUNICATION - A GUIDE TO COMPLIANCE
— This videotape begins with a brief overview of the purpose of OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard. It discusses both health and physical hazards which employees may encounter by being exposed to hazardous materials. The videotape takes one through the overall program by alerting the employer to start out with an inventory of hazardous chemicals which they have at their facility. The program then goes into the explanation and use of warning labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The next area discussed is the training for employees so that they will recognize hazardous materials and how to handle them. Also discussed is the need for a written compliance program which will document each step of the employer’s compliance with the Hazard Communication Act. (16 Minutes)

#235
WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE
— This videotape will provide training and information that is needed to work safely with chemicals. Numerous examples of correct and incorrect chemical procedures are re-enacted in a wide variety of work settings. The program does a very nice job of explaining how to use a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) as well as interpreting information which is commonly found on labels. This video program has been designed to educate and motivate employees handling and using chemicals. (17 Minutes)

#300
DEALING WITH CHEMICAL SAFETY
— This video program illustrates that the safe handling and storage of all chemicals, regardless of where they are used, requires a commitment by everyone to follow safe work procedures. The program explains how chemicals can contribute to cause a fire or explosion. It also illustrates how they can come in contact with the human body as well as enter the body. It demonstrates control measures to include elimination, substitution, isolation, ventilation and monitoring of contaminate levels. This program also explains proper personal hygiene, good housekeeping and the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment. (15 Minutes)

#318
SAFE HANDLING OF GASES
— Gas cylinders supply a wide variety of gases for a multitude of different industrial, medical and domestic purposes. The program includes a description of various types of gases and the hazards associated with gases in general. It also covers things to do before using a gas cylinder as well as other general do’s and don’ts in the area of storage, handling, transportation, leak testing and emergency procedures. Also addressed is the proper use of material safety data sheets to ensure that safe work procedures and advice from the manufacturer are followed. (19 Minutes)

#354
LAB SAFETY: HANDLING HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS
— This video program will help an employer create a Chemical Hygiene Plan and help employees understand that plan and the requirements of OSHA’s Laboratory Safety Standard (1910.1450). Addressed in the video, in addition to establishing a Chemical Hygiene Plan, are the following: 1) Proper hazard identification, 2) Exposure monitoring and Permissible Exposure Levels, 3)Medical attention and recordkeeping, 4) Emergency procedures. (21 Minutes)

#355
YOU'RE IN CONTROL; A HAZARD COMMUNICATION REVIEW
— This live action video program is an excellent refresher for employees who have been trained previously for hazard communication, as well as providing initial training for new employees. This program will teach employees about information sources including container labels and the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). It will also teach them about the hazards associated with chemicals that they work with, as well as how to control those hazards. Finally, it will inform the employees what to do if there is an accident and this will include basic response procedures. After reviewing this program, an employee will be able to 1) read a label or MSDS and provide specific information, 2) list the hazard classes of chemicals, 3) explain safe handling and storage procedures, 4) define the routes of entry into the body, 5) describe what to do in case of an emergency. (16 Minutes)

#394
PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT
— This program explains the OSHA Process Safety Management Standard and details compliance procedures for supervisors and managers. There is a discussion of how OSHA will audit the standard during a plant inspection. The need for employee participation and training in emergency response and follow-up is emphasized. (18 Minutes)
