HAZARD COMMUNICATION: A GUIDE TO COMPLIANCE
— This videotape begins with a brief overview of the purpose of OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard. It discusses both health and physical hazards which employees may encounter by being exposed to hazardous materials. The videotape takes one through the overall program by alerting the employer to start out with an inventory of hazardous chemicals which they have at their facility. The program then goes into the explanation and use of warning labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The next area discussed is the training for employees so that they will recognize hazardous materials and how to handle them. Also discussed is the need for a written compliance program which will document each step of the employer’s compliance with the Hazard Communication Act. (16 Minutes)

YOU’RE IN CONTROL: A HAZARD COMMUNICATION REVIEW —
This live action video program is an excellent refresher for employees who have been trained previously for hazard communication, as well as providing initial training for new employees. This program will teach employees about information sources including container labels and the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). It will also teach them about the hazards associated with chemicals that they work with, as well as how to control those hazards. Finally, it will inform the employees what to do if there is an accident and this will include basic response procedures. After reviewing this program, an employee will be able to 1) read a label or MSDS and provide specific information, 2) list the hazard classes of chemicals, 3) explain safe handling and storage procedures, 4) define the routes of entry into the body, 5) describe what to do in case of an emergency. THE MSDS: INFORMATION YOU CAN USE —
This video presents a useful and understandable explanation of the common characteristics of the MSDS. How to find the answer to questions concerning emergency information, hazardous situation response and prevention using the MSDS is covered. This is a good video to train employees on how to use and understand the MSDS as part of your Hazard Communication Program training effort. (22 Minutes)

HAZCOM: ACIDS AND CAUSTICS
— An employee has been splashed with sulfuric acid, and an investigation of the accident begins. During its course, we learn how to work safely with ever-present chemical hazards. The DOT class system is explained, with emphasis on Class 8 corrosives such as acids and caustics. Mixing, fumes, combining with water, storage, disposal, personal protective equipment (PPE), understanding hazard warnings and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are all covered. (17:40 Minutes)

Dangerous chemicals cannot be avoided. Your employee will encounter them at work, in situations such as the simple task of changing a toner cartridge in a copy machine. HAZARD COMMUNICATION & THE GLOBAL HARMONIZING SYSTEM This DVD addresses the implementation of the Global Harmonizing System or GHS which brings OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard more in line with international standards. This will help insure quality and consistency in the classification and labeling of all chemicals.
