The foundations for NJM were laid by New Jersey factory owners in 1913 as a response to newly passed legislation that required companies to provide injured workers with medical care and partial wage replacement.

NJM is the largest provider of Workers' Compensation coverage in New Jersey, as it has been since the 1940s, with $345.9 million in direct written premiums in 2009. The Company manages Workers' Compensation Claims efficiently, which includes operating its own Managed Care Organization, and continues to return significant dividends to policyholders even as overall Workers' Compensation expenses have increased.

• Claims Services is a viewable history of Workers' Compensation medical and indemnity benefits, including costs for treatment. Policyholders may also be granted the option of filing claims online. To gain access, an active policyholder or authorized broker must register.
• Video Training Library displays descriptions of hundreds of taped programs to encourage employees to work safely and operate machines carefully. If you are an NJM Workers' Compensation policyholder, search by topic and borrow videotapes at no charge.
• The NJM Managed Care Organization is our network of Workers' Compensation medical specialists, therapy centers, hospitals and related services. Providers are contracted either directly with NJM or with our PPO partner, Procura Management, Inc.
