October is here and it’s the season of pumpkin-carving, leaf-raking, and pie-baking. While this month is great for stay-at-home fun, don’t miss out on some of New Jersey’s best October events and festivals!

Harvest Moon Hayride & Night Time Corn Maze – For some family-friendly fun every Friday and Saturday through October 25, head over to Chester, NJ, for hayrides and corn mazes, plus a DJ, campfire, and unlimited apple cider!

25th Annual Cranberry Festival – On October 4 and 5, visit downtown Bordentown for one of the largest Juried Craft Shows in New Jersey. This festival features vendors with pottery, pastries, jewelry and wines. You also can enjoy a vintage car show on Saturday.

Great Pumpkin Train – Running on weekends from October 5 through the end of the month, this event offers a steam train tour through the beautiful fall landscape of Western New Jersey and to a pumpkin patch. Every child is welcome to pick his or her own pumpkin for free, and families are invited to add the corn maze experience to the Pumpkin Train ride.

35th Annual Deerfield Township Harvest Festival– From October 9 to 12 at the Rosenhayn Fire & Rescue Company, the Festival pays tribute to local farmers and celebrates “36 Years of Great Music & Family Fun: Makes you smile!” and includes a parade, arts and crafts show, mascot mania, amusement rides and games, a SingFest competition, dessert baking challenge, and a multi-cultural food court.

Haddonfield Fall FestivalThis October 18 event in Haddonfield, NJ brings you a day of fall fun complete with outdoor shopping, crafts, and entertainment.
