Leading Insurer Meets Families' Needs with Online Teen Driver Safety Program

WEST TRENTON, NJ — NJM Insurance Group (NJM), a leading auto insurer and teen driver safety advocate in the Mid-Atlantic region, has made its teen driver safety program available online to students, parents, and teachers in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

The online program includes Share the Keys and "What Do You Consider Lethal?" Share the Keys is a research-based interactive assembly that provides parents and teens with the tools they need to build and reinforce safe driving habits. "What Do You Consider Lethal?" is offered in partnership with Impact Teen Drivers, a leading traffic safety non-profit, and addresses the dangers of reckless and distracted driving.

"Even though schools are closed and classes have moved online, reinforcing safe driving habits remains a top priority for new drivers," said Violet Marrero, NJM Consumer Safety Director. "Due to the shelter-in-place order, new drivers have fewer opportunities to practice on the road. It is more important than ever to fill that gap by reinforcing these skills however we can. Offering our teen driver safety programs online is the perfect extension of NJM's commitment to support young drivers and their families."

According to the Centers for Disease Control, across the country motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens. NJM's Teen Driver Safety Program, offered free of charge to schools, has been proven to help reduce the risk of teen driver crashes by encouraging active parental involvement.
