$50,000 donation supports development for future leaders

WEST TRENTON, NJ — NJM Insurance Group, a leading auto insurer in the Mid-Atlantic region, awarded $50,000 to Delaware Valley University to help support student participation in The LeaderShape Institute, a nationally recognized leadership development program for college students.

"Leadership development provides students with high-demand skills that can help set them apart as they pursue their personal and professional goals," said DelVal Vice President for Campus Life and Inclusive Excellence Dr. April Vari. "We are grateful to NJM and all our donors who help provide this life-changing opportunity to DelVal students."

The LeaderShape Institute is an intensive, six-day residential educational experience designed to prepare young adults to lead with integrity. The program employs an active, experiential approach to learning that focuses on introspection and transformation. Through an exploration of the many aspects of leadership, each student develops ideas and goals around issues they are passionate about.

"The partnership between Delaware Valley University and The LeaderShape Institute empowers students with a unique opportunity to make a difference in their college life and beyond," said Linda Coles, NJM Media Relations Manager. "We are proud to support future leaders as they learn how to lead and find their footing in the community."

This is the third consecutive year that DelVal has received sponsorship for the LeaderShape Institute. Forty-one Delaware Valley students participated in the program between January 12 and January 17 in Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania. NJM’s donation will help fund the program through 2021.
