The changes will broaden your coverage and should reduce your out-of-pocket expenses when you use Roadside Assistance.

The cost of NJM Roadside Assistance is $15 per vehicle, per policy period.

NJM Roadside Assistance still covers all vehicles insured under your NJM Personal Auto policy, and rental vehicles in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

NJM Roadside Assistance Services*

When you have NJM Roadside Assistance, you can get a single tow of a covered disabled vehicle due to a covered emergency, up to 20 miles.§ You’ll also have access to 24/7 roadside assistance for labor on a disabled vehicle at the place of disablement, up to $125 for the following situations:

  • Lockout service
  • Jump start
  • Flat tire change
  • Delivery of gasoline or other fluids as necessary (up to 2 gallons)
  • Vehicle immobilization or breakdown

There is a limit of six covered events per policy period.§ You will be responsible for expenses exceeding any of the above policy limits. You will also be responsible for fees and/or charges that are assessed by local municipalities or their agents associated with your vehicle’s disablement.

Did You Use Another Provider?

If you paid a service provider (e.g., towing operator or roadside mechanic) directly, you may be reimbursed up to your chosen policy limit.

Submit your request online with your itemized receipt. This is the quickest and easiest way to request your reimbursement.

You may also mail your reimbursement request. Mailed reimbursements take up to 30 days to process. Send your name, address, insurance policy number, and itemized receipt to:

Were You Involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident?

Roadside Assistance does not cover losses from any claim related incidents. If you require a tow as a result of a motor vehicle accident, flood, or any other damage, file a claim. We may cover a single, reasonable tow of a covered vehicle to a local body shop or storage location. Learn more.
