Making a Payment

Frequently Asked Questions

What information do I need to make a payment?

Your NJM policy number, including the letter and all the numbers without the dash (you can find your policy number on your bill), amount due of your last bill, bank account or credit/debit card information and a valid email address.

Is there a fee charged?

No. The service is free.

What brand and type of cards can I use?

Policyholders can pay online using a Visa® or MasterCard® credit card or signature debit card branded with the Visa® or MasterCard® logo. There are no additional fees charged by NJM for paying online.

Can I call and make a payment through an NJM customer service representative with my credit or debit card?

No, NJM does not accept credit or debit card payments over the phone or through the mail. Currently, this option is only available online.

What if I don't have any of the required information needed to make a payment?

You may call NJM for any payment related reason at 1-800-232-6600, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday–Friday), or 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Saturday), or email us at ecash@njm.com at any time.

When do the funds need to be available in my account?

Funds need be available at the time the transaction is initiated.

What date will be used in making an online payment?

Your payment will be submitted with the date the transaction is completed.
