Homeowners Insurance Endorsements
Insure the Valuables … Like Your Identity
Your standard NJM Homeowners Insurance policy insures your house or condo and personal property. But what if you want more coverage for your jewelry, silverware, furs, or computer equipment? You may even want insurance for credit card and identity fraud. You need endorsements. An endorsement can either increase the dollar limit of coverage for certain items or extend coverage to items or people not included in your standard home insurance policy.

Additional coverage can be purchased to protect the property owned by other household residents who are not related to you and are not on the deed or lease.
Limited Fungi, Wet or Dry Rot, or Bacteria
Provides increased coverage for the testing and removal of fungi, the tearing out of any part of the property to access the fungi, and the repair of the property that was damaged in the process.
Supplemental Loss Assessment Coverage
If your condo or homeowners association is liable for someone else's Bodily Injury or Property Damage, or if you must pay your share of covered damage to the association's jointly owned property, the policy will cover up to $1,000 (Homeowners HO-3 and HO-5) or $5,000 (Condo HO-6) of your share of this cost. This endorsement permits you to buy coverage higher than $1,000 (HO-3 and HO-5) or $5,000 (HO-6) or coverage for more than one location.
Water Back-up and Sump Discharge or Overflow
Covers damage caused by water back-up and sump discharge or overflow, even if due to a mechanical breakdown of a sump pump. Coverage doesn't apply to the repair or replacement of a pump or related equipment damaged by a mechanical breakdown.
Earthquake
While earthquakes are rare for this part of the United States, the possibility always exists. Damage caused by earthquakes is not covered under a homeowners policy. Coverage can be purchased to provide protection for damage to your home or personal belongings caused by an earthquake.
