New Jersey Auto Insurance

Our People Make a Difference

New Jersey drivers deserve auto insurance they can depend on. Whether you're driving on the Jersey Turnpike or heading down the shore on the Atlantic City Expressway, you need someone who understands that car insurance is more than just protection for your car. That's where we come in. We understand that providing insurance takes empathy, compassion, and good old-fashioned hard work. We work to be the best we can be, so you can focus on the things that matter most.

Who Needs Auto Insurance?

If you own a car in New Jersey, auto insurance is legally required. Aside from that, having coverage you can count on is worth the peace of mind. Our team of representatives will walk you through every detail of your policy to ensure you drive with confidence.

How Much is Auto Insurance in New Jersey?

Car insurance costs vary from person to person based on a number of factors. Typically, costs are calculated based on personal information such as driving history, as well as information about the insured vehicle’s age, make/model and usage. Of course, the coverage you choose will also impact how much you pay. We'll work with you to create a policy that meets your needs.

NJM's auto insurance is approximately 20% lower* than what other New Jersey drivers pay. In addition, we offer a number of discounts for auto policies:

  • Auto + Home bundle discount: If you already have an NJM homeowners or renters policy, adding an auto insurance policy is easy and helps you save.

  • Multi-car discount: Have two or more vehicles in your household? We'll apply a discount to each car that's insured under the same policy.

  • Good student discount: We think you deserve some savings for doing well in school. If you're a high school or college student who's made the honor roll or Dean's List and has at least a B average or 3.0 GPA, you may qualify for a discount.

New Jersey Auto Insurance Coverages

New Jersey No-Fault Insurance

Since New Jersey is a no-fault state, if you or anyone covered by your policy is injured in an auto accident, your policy pays for reasonable and necessary medical expenses (up to your chosen limit) regardless of who caused the accident.

No-Fault or Personal Injury Protection (PIP) can provide medical and optional non-medical coverage for the injuries and expenses incurred in an auto accident by you or anyone covered by your policy. PIP has two parts:

  • Medical Expenses: coverage for the cost of treatment you receive from hospitals, doctors and other medical providers and any medical equipment that may be needed to treat your injuries.

  • Optional Coverages for Non-Medical Benefits: reimbursement for certain other expenses you may have because you are hurt, such as lost wages and the need to hire someone to take care of your home or family.

Liability

This coverage pays for damage to others accidentally caused by you as a result of an auto accident. It also pays for a lawyer to defend you if you are sued for damages.

Collision

This coverage pays, above your chosen deductible, for damage to your vehicle resulting from your vehicle's impact with another vehicle or object.

Other Than Collision (Comprehensive)

This coverage pays, above your chosen deductible, for damage to your vehicle that is not a result of a collision. Covered losses can include theft of your vehicle, vandalism, flooding, fire, or a broken windshield. This coverage also applies if you collide with an animal.

Why NJM?

For nearly 100 years, NJM has served New Jersey drivers from all over the state and with every type of car. Although cars and technology have changed, our commitment to service hasn't. The last thing you want in the unfortunate event of an accident is a surprise from the people who should have answers. Our team will walk you through the claims process and make sure all of your questions are handled, including what happens next.
