Glass Claims
Auto glass would be various types of window glass in your auto, including windshield, back, side and roof glass. Excluded from auto glass would be side view mirrors, headlights, and taillights.
The comprehensive coverage under your NJM Auto policy covers damage to your auto glass. NJM will waive your deductible if your auto glass can be repaired rather than replaced. If replacement is necessary, your comprehensive deductible would apply. Some states have different coverages, so please check with your adjuster to see what would apply.
In most instances, if you can cover the damaged spot with a dollar bill, repair is possible. However, this is just a guideline and does not determine a successful repair. Repairs are not guaranteed, as the damage to the auto glass can spread before, during, or after a repair. If you are dissatisfied with the repair or if the repair fails at any point, a replacement will be subject to your comprehensive deductible.
You can report your claim online. We will ask you a few questions and, if your damage qualifies as Auto Glass Only, we will direct you to the Safelite AutoGlass website, where you can schedule the repair or replacement right away. Alternatively, you can contact our claims department at 1-800-367-6564 and follow the prompts for Auto Glass Only damage. This will lead you to our glass unit to report your claim.
When you use a preferred glass provider, you would pay your deductible directly to the glass shop once the work has been completed. If you are not using a preferred glass provider, please contact your auto glass claims representative for further information.
Yes, you can still file a claim if your selected provider is not affiliated with NJM. Your auto glass claims representative would need to review an estimate from your provider before the work is completed. Please contact your auto glass claims representative for further information.
Yes, the cost to recalibrate your safety features, such as the camera, rain sensor, and other equipment related to the auto glass installation is covered. If the cost to replace your glass does not exceed your deductible, you will be responsible to pay for replacement.
